Introducing Marni Morris, creator of The Third Alternative

History

“I was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, lived in several cities in Canada and the U.S., and eventually settled just north of Toronto, Ontario, where I met my husband of 32 years and raised our two wonderful daughters. As a child, I was curious about the mind and natural approaches to wellness, but with a pharmacist and two MDs in the family I was encouraged to follow conventional medicine with all of its accompanying beliefs and paradigms. After graduating from Carleton University in Ottawa, I worked as secretary in a handful of offices, and finally as part-time administrator in my brother’s busy medical practice.

Crossroads

But something felt off. Despite being grateful for the work, I felt ambivalent, and somewhere along the way I realized that I was feeling dissatisfied and unfulfilled. Working in an office using a conventional medical approach was just not resonating with me. So I took a break from the workforce to discover my life’s purpose. It was then that a number of resources (e.g., The Bates Method, Wisdom Healing Qigong and Life Vision Mentoring) slowly began to come my way, ultimately transforming my life.

Discovery of energy healing

In particular, I found my passion in energy healing – especially how our beliefs, thoughts and consciousness affect our health and well-being. Backed up by the discoveries of quantum physics – the latest science – its approach resonated with me far more than the more standard approach I had been accustomed to. Energy healing looks at underlying cause rather than physical symptoms, and recognizes that many of our illnesses are caused by stuck energy, such as unprocessed emotions that get trapped in the body. I set about learning all I could, reading extensively, taking courses and happily practicing on family and friends (both distance healing and in person). I got encouraging results, positive feedback and a number of referrals. With these methods, some people can even feel the shift in energy and many people feel lighter or more at ease, sometimes even reporting a positive change in their life right after a session.

Some of the techniques I studied include:

Natural Vision Improvement – where I read books about The Bates Method (including Dr. Bates’s book); took some classes; and watched a lot of instructive videos.  I also saw some improvement in my vision for the first time in my life since wearing glasses;
Qigong, meditation and yoga – I took a number of qigong classes; read about and began to meditate regularly; and explored doing yoga.  I have recently begun an online kundalini yoga class;
The Emotion Code (a means to release trapped emotions); I read Bradley Nelson’s book The Emotion Code, and learned to use the technique on myself, other people and animals;
Light Body Alignment (LBA), a form of sabotage clearing, which uses a unique approach to identify and clear sabotages and which I learned directly from its creator, Barry Auchettl. This approach uses muscle testing to identify sabotages in a person’s life, and then clears them on an energetic level.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) and Optimal EFT (OEFT) – I am a student of Gary Craig’s High End Training, which included an orientation with Gary Craig, himself, and which I continue to learn from in a weekly practice group.  OEFT activates our Divine inner healer by calling upon the “Unseen Therapist” with the ultimate goal of alleviating ailments and unrest and bringing peace to our systems.
Ho’oponopono (a powerful Hawaiian practice); which I read about and have used with good success; and
A Course in Miracles, a system to train and clarify your mind, whose transformative teachings I am studying with two friends in the UK as well as incorporating both Tina Spalding’s and Beyond the Matrix’s YouTube channels into my daily practice.
